This Japanese residence embraces modern and traditional nuances

Combining modern and traditional elements in housing is one of the architectural trends that is now being widely used.

In Japan, Hitoshi Saruta from Cubo Design Architect has completed a house called T3. The house was designed based on the wishes of the client namely a modern residence that can be coupled with the beauty of Japanese garden.

Based on this desire, Saruta combines the symbolic beauty of the surrounding environment with contemporary Japanese style, bringing together traditional methods, practices and materials. Saruta applied the overhang roof which surrounded the building mass. The design is mostly found in Japanese residential style sukiya which serves to protect the residence from rain and direct sunlight.

The T3 dwelling also features an accessible rooftop and swimming pool which directly overlooks the Japanese zen garden which is rocked.
